DonutSMP Discord Server
The official DonutSMP Discord server at discord.gg/donutsmp is the central hub for community interaction, trading, support, and announcements. The server is run by DonutSMP staff and is the only official Discord server for the community.
Discord Market
The market channel is the primary trading channel on the official DonutSMP Discord where players buy, sell, and trade items and spawners via direct messages. Most spawner trading happens on Discord. Players must be cautious of scammers as scams are allowed on DonutSMP. All transactions in the Discord must remain in-game currency only. Any real-money transactions through Discord or other platforms fall under the IRL trading ban and result in temporary bans.
Ticket System
The DonutSMP Discord features a ticket system for legitimate support requests. Tickets are used for ban appeals, bug reports, and Media rank applications for content creators. Ban appeals submitted through the ticket system are known to be very slow, and it may take up to 3 months to get a response. Bug reports are known to be ignored unless they are exploitable game-breaking bugs.
Community Channels
The Discord server includes a memes and clips channel for sharing content, server and project promotion channels for advertising builds and services, and the Discord Market for trading. Major server updates are typically announced through DrDonut’s streams and the official DonutSMP Discord server.
Security
The DonutSMP Discord requires all users to link their Minecraft account using the /link command. Once linked, accounts cannot be unlinked. When a player joins the server from a new IP address, the DonutSMP Discord bot sends a direct message containing an embed with a button that must be clicked to approve the sign-in from the new location. This verification system was implemented to prevent account theft caused by “rats”, infostealers that compromise player accounts by stealing session tokens or login credentials.
Players should never give their email to Discord servers claiming to grant access. Malicious actors can use email addresses to hack Microsoft accounts and steal Minecraft accounts. Legitimate server staff will never ask for an email address. If a Discord server asks for your email and password they are trying to steal your account, if you enter your credentials, your account will be compromised.
Banned Activities
Being in hack or cheat Discord servers is also a bannable offense, even if you don’t actively use cheats. Players should use alternate accounts if they must participate in such communities. Admins are known to scrape Discord servers and mass ban any accounts that are found to be in hack or cheat servers. Players should also avoid sharing personal information on Discord, as this can lead to doxxing and harassment.
